From spirited seasonal cocktails to Thanksgiving meals without the kitchen chaos, Hummingbird and PoshNosh are making the holidays a little more delicious.
The holiday season is almost here, and whether you’ve been naughty, nice, or somewhere in between, Raleigh’s Hummingbird has something to help celebrate.
Beginning November 27, the popular restaurant and cocktail bar at Dock 1053 is bringing back its annual Naughty List holiday cocktail menu, featuring five festive concoctions.
And for those who would rather spend Thanksgiving enjoying family and friends than spending hours in the kitchen, chef Coleen Speaks and her PoshNosh Catering team have a solution.
Which Naughty List Cocktail Are You?
Hummingbird is offering five reasons to land on the Naughty List this holiday season, with cocktails ranging from gingerbread-inspired bourbon creations to spiked hot chocolate.
For bourbon lovers (here, here), the Gingerbread Express combines bourbon, lime, gingerbread syrup, and ginger beer for a holiday twist on a familiar combination.
The Hot Grinch mixes spiced rum, RumChata, spiced compound butter, and whipped cream for a rich seasonal indulgence.
For something a little more elegant, raise a glass of It’s a Wonderful Life, a sparkling mix of Cava, cognac, génépy, lime, and rosemary simple syrup.
Blitzen Hot Cocoa brings bourbon, Ancho Reyes chile liqueur, almond milk, and hot cocoa together for a grown-up take on a childhood favorite.
And for the cocktail adventurer? There’s the Christmas Sweater, a combination of reposado tequila, mezcal, Cointreau, Hoodoo chicory liqueur, and orgeat. It’s a layered holiday drink with a smoky side.
Thanksgiving Without the Kitchen Chaos
Before the holiday cocktails begin flowing, Speaks and her PoshNosh Catering team are helping make Thanksgiving a little easier.
The Raleigh chef is offering Thanksgiving meal kits designed to take some of the work out of holiday entertaining. Options include a small meal kit serving up to four people for $300 and a larger package serving up to 10 for $525.
For those who already have Thanksgiving dinner under control but need a little assistance with dessert, the menu includes pumpkin cheesecake with a gingersnap crust and pecan chocolate chess pie.
Orders must be placed by Thursday, November 19, with pickup scheduled for Wednesday, November 25, from noon–4 p.m.
Visit Hummingbird’s Holiday To Go page for the complete selection and ordering details.
A Little Happy Hour Before the Holidays
There’s another reason to stop by Hummingbird before the holiday celebrations begin.
The restaurant has introduced a new happy hour menu, available Tuesday through Thursday from 5–6:30 p.m., featuring select half-priced dishes.
The latest happy hour gives guests another opportunity to sample the kitchen’s offerings at a reduced price before settling in for dinner.
