34th Annual Oakwood Garden Club Tour
April 16 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
The 34th Annual Oakwood Garden Tour sponsored by the Oakwood Garden Club is April 15th and April 16th. The private gardens open on this year’s walking tour range from small, intimate patio settings to large gardens and even include a babbling pond.
You are sure to find inspiration for your own garden while enjoying tea and refreshments from local establishments such as Tin Roof Teas, Yellow Dog Bakery, and Posh Nosh Catering, among others.
Before you even begin your tour of the gardens, why not sign up for an experience to create your own Fascinator or Boutonniere? Fascinators are the quirky headpieces favored by British royalty at the BEST garden parties. Last year’s fascinator experience featuring lovely flowers was a hit with all attendees as they couldn’t believe how much fun it was to create their own design. This year, we are excited to welcome a flock of feathered birds with eggs and nests to grace the heads of our attendees! Come create a fascinator for the first time or add to your own collection. All supplies and instructions will be provided as well as refreshments from Side Street Café and a Hibiscus mocktail. After touring the gardens, boost your creativity even further and stop by The Pocket Gallery on Bloodworth Street for a free micro-workshop that celebrates the art of flowers, rebirth and spring. This special art exhibition and community project will be led by Julia Einstein, the Artist in Residence at Raleigh City Farm.
Tickets for the Fascinator or Boutonniere Experience combined with the Walking Tour are $45 per person and must be purchased by April 12th. Tickets for Walking Tour Only are $25 per person while supplies last. This event is held rain or shine.
