Birdie’s Has Your Whole Day Covered

By Kyle Marie McMahon

One year in, the downtown Raleigh favorite is more than just a restaurant—it’s an all-day gathering place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between.

For the past year, Birdie’s Barroom & Kitchen has solidified its place as a charming, all-day hub on Fayetteville Street, known for its gracious Carolina hospitality. It has truly embraced its mission to be a downtown gathering place, seamlessly transitioning from a bustling morning café to a relaxed lunch spot, a lively after-work bar, and a sophisticated dinner destination.

The Best Kept Secret: Weekday Breakfast

While many have come to love its weekend brunch and vibrant evenings, one of its best features is the weekday breakfast, served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday. It offers a thoughtful and relaxing alternative to the typical morning grab-and-go routine, featuring the same dishes that have made it a weekend destination. Favorites include the perfectly prepared Bennie, the spicy Hellish Eggs, and the wholesome Hippie Hash Bowl, alongside fresh salads and stacked sandwiches. During my last visit, I had the Avocado Toast, a delicious take on the ever-popular dish, featuring pickled onions and a creamy deviled egg. It’s the ideal setting for a business breakfast, a quiet coffee from the grab-and-go counter, or a midweek meetup with friends.

“Birdie’s is a place to gather—whether it’s for a celebratory dinner, a quick coffee break, or your favorite weekday breakfast spot,” said Amber Moshakos, owner and President of LM Restaurants.

From Lunch Meetings to Late-Night Live Music

As the day unfolds, so does Birdie’s menu. The lunch and dinner offerings cater to any occasion, from a quick and casual bite to a more celebratory meal. The full-service bar, which cleverly opens to both the inside and the patio, becomes a popular spot for after-work drinks, buzzing with energy as colleagues and friends connect. On weekends, the restaurant is a brunch-to-dinner hotspot, offering live music on Friday nights to kick off the weekend in style thanks to its ample outdoor space.

Celebrate One Year This Sunday

To mark its first anniversary, Birdie’s is throwing a neighborhood BBQ in their backyard this Sunday, October 12th, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.. The can’t-miss celebration will feature live music on the bandstage, chef’s specialty burgers hot off the grill, classic sides, and yard games.

Whether you’re starting your day, ending your night, or looking for the perfect spot in between, Birdie’s has carved out its place as a cornerstone of the downtown Raleigh community.

Reservations are available at BirdiesRaleigh.com or directly through Resy. Birdie’s is located at 150 Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.
