Midtown Farmers' Market will begin its' 9th season on Saturday April 16th, and will continue through Saturday, November 5th. This lively neighborhood market, located in the heart of Midtown is run by Midtown Events and sponsored by Duke Raleigh Hospital. The Market features 45+ vendors selling local farm-fresh produce, meats, seafood, cheeses, baked goods and other specialty foods and crafts. This year, the Market is held every Saturday from April 16 to November 5, 8 am to Noon on the Commons of North Hills.
At the Midtown Farmers’ Market, we strive each Saturday to answer the ever-pressing question of, “Who’s your farmer?” As a ‘producers only’ market, vendors are only permitted to sell items which they themselves have produced. This means that the vendors at Market truly are ‘your farmers’ and that each vendor has an in depth, working knowledge of his/her products.
By providing farmers with a place to sell their wares, educate consumers about their farms, growing practices, and the importance of farmland, the Midtown Farmers’ Market promotes the preservation of the family farm. And, with so many fresh fruits and veggies, lean proteins, handmade canned goods free of preservatives, made with only natural, farm fresh ingredients – think: jelly, salsa, and BBQ sauce – fitness programs, NH Kids days, green initiatives and other activities, it’s true, a visit to the Midtown Farmers’ Market really “Does a Body Good!”
