The North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) announces the 2016-17 schedule for Sights and Sounds on Sundays, the Museum’s long-running chamber music concert series produced in partnership with Chamber Music Raleigh. Sights and Sounds on Sundays features the finest ensembles from throughout North Carolina, performing diverse programs that complement art in the Museum’s permanent collection and special exhibitions. Performances take place in the SECU Auditorium in the Museum’s East Building.
Tour the NCMA through music! The early music ensemble highlights works in the permanent collection with the music of J. S. and C. P. E. Bach, Handel, Monteverdi, and more.
Raleigh Camerata performs chamber music from the Renaissance through early classical periods on period instruments of the type used in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. The ensemble is led by Kelly Nivison Roudabush, traverso; Allison Willet, baroque violin; Salome Sandoval, soprano and lute; Chris Nunnally, baroque cello; and Jennifer Streeter, harpsichord.
