Experience the Best Raleigh Has to Offer

Midtown magazine offers readers an inside look at Raleigh life, from Downtown to Midtown and northward to the 540 outer beltway. Anchored in the “second downtown” of the Midtown/North Hills area, Midtown captures the capital city experiencing an explosion in growth of population, state offices, businesses, medical facilities, and homes and apartments. Blending old historic with the modern new South, Midtown introduces you to the people and places that make Raleigh the hottest place to live, work and play.

🌮 Do some good with Bartaco’s #givingtaco! 🌮

@bartacolife’s #secrettaco has left the menu, but their new #givingtaco is giving us good vibes!

Each month, a new/unique taco will be introduced to the menu, and $1 from every #givingtaco sold is donated to a local organization.

Eat good + do good. Now, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 good!

This month’s giving taco: Soft-shell crab with sweet charred corn pico and roasted poblano sauce, seen here.
So. Much. Pollen. We Talked to an Allergy Specialist About It. 🤧

Special thanks to Jonathan Romeo, D.O., a board-certified allergist with Allergy Partners of the Triangle in Raleigh for chatting with us about ways to manage this plethora of pollen (and other allergies)!

We celebrated the grand opening of the @designedforjoy store located in Makers Alley in @visitnorthhills!

Designed for Joy has provided over 140 women in crisis with steady employment since 2017. Their main studio/workspace is still located in @downtownraleigh, but this new spot will offer shoppers access to all the fab DFJ products, helping spread the word of all the amazing things they do for women in our community.
Celebrated the grand opening of @doseyoga this weekend at @visitnorthhills! It’s the perfect spot to relax while focusing on whole mind + body. A total zen experience!

Sunday afternoons just got much more indulgent during your North Hills shopping excursion with the recent addition of Leo’s Italian Social, now open on the ground level of the Renaissance Hotel.

Filling the space of the old Mia Francesca location, Leo’s Italian Social is a plush new dining experience serving lunch, brunch, dinner and cocktails that range from arancini and cauliflower bites for starters to pasta, wood-fired pizzas and main dishes such as halibut, chicken parmesan and juicy filet cuts.

Midtown visited Leo’s to try some items on its Sunday brunch menu. The menu features six delicious-sounding items, making it challenging to decide on only two!

We opted for the Avocado Toast, made with fresh avocado spread, grilled sourdough, feta cheese, and a soft-boiled egg. Served with a side of fresh arugula topped with radishes and heirloom tomatoes, it was one of the heartiest avocado toasts we’ve had.

We also opted for the Baked Italian Eggs with roasted tomatoes, sausage, caramelized onions, zucchini and olive oil toast. You have your choice of how you want your eggs, which, for us, was over-easy so that the rich yolk could blend in with the rich tomato sauce and nicely seasoned sausage.

Also, during Leo’s Italian Social’s brunch hours, take advantage of their $5 Mimosa and Bloody Mary specials—we sure did!
